Just Us is not a large corporation, not a funded non-profit, we are just people who see the problems in the system and seek to raise awareness and encourage others to take a stand. We are not attorneys and do not offer legal advice. We may be able to suggest resources and ideas but that is never to be viewed as legal advice or to be considered in place of the advice of an attorney. We are also not investigators but we do review documentation about the stories that are published here.
Just Us was created by advocates to help bring awareness to cases and stories that need to be told. Not everyone gets a documentary or appears on a talk show, in fact less than 1% are talked about in the main stream.
Exoneration's of the wrongfully convicted have reached record breaking numbers in a short amount of time. However, for everyone one person exonerated it is reasonable to conclude that there are at least double, if not more, who are still waiting. There are a lot of innocent people in prison and others that may be guilty of a much lessor crimes than what they are serving time for. Felony Murder is one such example. The increasing numbers of exoneration's give us hope that America is waking up and realizing that our justice system is broken.
There are many groups and organizations popping up everywhere, which is fantastic, but divided we all have a harder time, united we can be heard. "Alone we are but a drop of water, together was an ocean".
